But if you notice excessive wear on just one edge, it’s usually a sign that you have an alignment / suspension problem that a mechanic should handle. For that and other symptoms, like steering vibrations or pulling, you should have your steering and suspension systems inspected. Exhaust System

Exhaust systems are not just mufflers keeping your engine quiet. In a car exhaust systems are responsible for expelling deadly gasses out of the rear of your vehicle. One of the most important components to check when it comes to exhaust systems is the catalytic converter. A faulty converter will drastically increase your car's carbon emissions, cause errors with your car's oxygen sensors, and set off your "check engine" light. As a result, your engine will run inefficiently and effect your gas mileage. Our expert technicians at Katy Auto Center will diagnose your vehicle's exhaust systems and any other part in need of car repair cheaply and quickly.

12

Fuel System

A car's fuel system or gas system, with its purpose to store fuel and deliver fuel to the cylinder chamber where it can be vaporized, mixed with air and finally burned to produce power, consists of the fuel tank (gas tank), fuel lines, fuel pump or pumps, fuel filter, carburetor or fuel injectors and the combustion chamber. The fuel can either be gasoline, diesel, biodiesel or a blend of ethanol and gasoline. Every time a vehicle’s driver presses the gas pedal, they are controlling how much fuel and air the engine takes in, and telling the throttle valve how much air to let in and the computer tells the fuel system how much fuel to deliver. These calculated amounts of air and fuel are typically mixed together before being sucked into the combustion chamber of an engine cylinder. There the spark plug ignites the mixture, producing the controlled burn that powers the vehicle. It’s important for the fuel in the vehicle to be as clean as possible. It is achieved by performing fuel system cleaning services, and replacing fuel filters if necessary.

13

Power Windows & doors

When power windows and door locks are not working properly, they quickly become an inconvenience and even potentially dangerous. Malfunctioning power windows and door locks can also damage your window glass. That’s why it’s important to have them repaired at the first sign of trouble. Come to us when you need your power windows and doors diagnose and repaired.

14

Radiator Work

A radiator cools the engine by circulating an engine coolant circulating through the engine block. Then it loses the heat to the atmosphere through radiation, with radiator's tubes and fins. A radiator needs to remain clean. As time goes, sludge, rust and other deposits may build up inside your car's radiator. These make the cooling system become clogged and less effective and will hurt your vehicle's performance. A regular radiator flush is enough to keep the system in shape.

15

Steering

The steering and suspension system on your vehicle is responsible for maintaining comfortable riding conditions and driving performance, and helps drivers remain in control of their vehicles at all times. Suspension system components, like coil springs and shock absorbers, help to dampen the impact of road bumps. Regardless of your driving preferences, we have the necessary equipment to identify and correct any issue plaguing your steering and suspension system. Our technicians are trained to inspect the steering and suspension components in order to determine whether your service will entail a minor adjustment or a replacement.

16

Timing Belts

A Timing Belt is a rubber belt that usually features teeth on the inside surface, while a timing chain is a metal roller chain. Most cars we drive today have timing belts instead of timing chains and gears. The timing belt is a part of a car's internal combustion engine. The belt synchronizes the camshaft and the crankshaft rotation so that the engine valves open and close at the correct timings. In addition, the belt prevents the piston from striking the valves in an interference engine. Different manufacturers have their recommended mileage, we do recommend that you have your car's timing belt checked regularly.

17

Tire & Alignment

Throughout the life of a typical vehicle, car owners need to replace their tires a few times or more. Actual tread life varies by car type, tire type, driving aggressiveness, road conditions and weather conditions (we live in Houston, do we?). Proper maintenance and responsible driving can maximize the mileage in a set of tires. Our service including: Tire Repairs, Alignments, Tire Rotation, Tire Inspection, Balancing.
